Ambassador Friday presents his credentials to President Obama

New Ambassador to the United States of America,
His Excellency Ethelstan Angus Friday.
Grenada’s new Ambassador to the United States of America, His Excellency Ethelstan Angus Friday, was among a list of new foreign ambassadors who presented their credentials at the White House on Tuesday, September 17, 2013.

“The presentation of credentials is a traditional ceremony that marks the formal beginning of an Ambassador’s service in Washington,” said a release from the White House on Monday.

Ambassador Friday was appointed the new Ambassador after the Dr. Keith Mitchell-led New National Party (NNP) won the February 19, 2013 General Elections. Dr. Friday had previously served as a diplomat for the NNP as a Permanent Resident to the United Nations Mission, but lost the job when the National Democratic Congress won the July 2008 General Elections.
