SPICEMAS CLIMAX – Grenada Carnival 2013 comes to a successful close; calypso competition and carnival band results revealed

IT was launched on June 2 and, after weeks of pre-activities and preliminary competitions, Spicemas 2013 concluded on Tuesday August 13 with a grand parade of carnival bands on the streets of St. George’s and other parishes, as police shut down music in the open spaces at midnight.

This reveller had a great time on the road during Carnival.

Organised by Spicemas Corporation, Carnival 2013 was promised to be the best ever by Parliamentary Secretary responsible for Culture, Senator Brenda Hood. Companies invested thousands into the celebrations as part of their social responsibility, while ensuring that the activities remains at a high standards.

Final days of activities commenced on August 2 with the Children’s Carnival. Tuesday’s explosion of colourful costumes was the last official activity of the Corporation, but many private promoters will be having ‘cool down’ activities which include a comedy show, cruise and fetes, which
will conclude by this Sunday.
