A new and on-time LIAT

Soon the Caribbean will be seeing a very new LIAT!

This is according to Marketing and Products Manager, Hughvon Sealy, as he spoke to the media, during a sponsorship press conference in Barbados.

As noted by Sealy, “Our Internal Brand Camp Awareness Drive, is where we are actually training every single LIAT staff and vendor staff ... in terms of taking them through customer service initiatives.”

Products Manager, LIAT.
Citing that they have developed a new LIAT, he further noted that they now have new brand values as well as new brand personality. The LIAT Brand Camp is an internal drive, where they are training the staff in terms of offering the best possible service to their customers, as well as complementing the new
ATR fleet of new aircrafts.

“Upgrading our systems is necessary,” he stated. “Obviously we have taken that as a trigger to also upgrade our people, our systems, our procedures, as well as the general well-being of our people and the environment in which they operate, I would say both physically as well as emotionally and motivationally,” he explained.

Stating that this summer had been a rough one not only for the travelling public, but also for staff, as everything that could have gone wrong did, from the weather system to having to ground a few planes and the transition to the new planes, as well as the continuous breakdowns of the safe but old fleet, he noted that they had a lot to prove this Christmas.

“The summer – that’s the impression in everyone’s minds, that’s what we’re being judged by. Previous to that ‘yes’ there was a reputation and that kind of thing, but strides were being made, improvements were being made; there were a lot of internal initiatives for on-time performance, etc., that were being rolled out. It just so happens that we had the summer of all summers. So a lot is being done ... but we go forward with a new vision, a new focus and we will be harnessing the energy of our staff to take us there,” he pointed out.

With the Brand Camps being held mostly in Antigua and Barbuda, with at least six or seven territories of staff participating, he has noted that thanks to the camps, the public will be seeing “an on-time LIAT and a new LIAT”.

“What we can promise is that the travelling public will see a new LIAT,” stated Sealy. (AC)
