Neila Ettienne to facilitate drama workshop

June 27 is the deadline for Primary and Secondary School Teachers as well as Secondary School Students who can sign up for a three-day Drama Workshop to be hosted by the Ministry of Culture.

The training in Voicing and Acting will be offered at the Marryshow House from July 16 to 18, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be facilitated by Theater Arts Specialist, Ms. Neila Ettienne.

At the end of the sessions, participants are expected to have a basic understanding of how to use the stage correctly during performance; how to use the voice in performance; acquire acting skills and learn how to improvise during performances, among of skills, said a release from the Ministry of Culture.

Theatre, Drama and the Arts was recently introduced as a subject area by the CXC and a number of secondary schools are offering it to students.

This training is expected to not only assist students and amateur actors, but also provide students with more practical understanding about the use of the voice in acting and voicing. (LS)
