QPR women playing football

Queen’s Park Rangers (QPR) team.

A group of young women – more famous for their exploits as steelpan players – made their debut last Saturday as footballers.

In fact, some of the Republic Bank Angel Harps female pannists, who are winners of junior and senior panorama titles, were playing a competitive football game for the first time ever.

Not surprisingly, they were outplayed by a more experienced Queen’s Park Rangers (QPR) team in a game thoroughly enjoyed by spectators at Old Trafford in Tanteen.

QPR, clad in yellow top and black shorts, drubbed the red-and-white uniformed Angel Harps 5–0.

In the second of an ongoing series, the male pannists of Angel Harps drew 1–1 with Carenage Over-40.

Of the other three games between the teams, Carenage has won two and Angel Harps has picked up one.
