RUBIS officially launches and rebrands all its service stations


FIVE months after opening its first branded service station in Grenada, RUBIS has officially rebranded all ten Texaco service stations located around the island.

“The new look stations are fresh, modern and appealing. This includes rebranded fuel dispensers, new air pumps, LED forecourt lighting, new canopy design and new uniforms for staff. We have focused on training and developing the service station employees to offer great, consistent customer service and have rolled out a new Rubis training programme. Our focus is to take the customer experience to a whole new level,” said a statement from the company.

The rebranding in Grenada is among 67 service stations in the Eastern Caribbean, which is costing the company US$3.5 million.

Rubis West Indies Limited’s head office is based in Barbados and the Managing Director is Mauricio Nicholls, who, last Tuesday, not only formally announced the entrance of the company on the Grenada market during a reception, but also launched its new products into the market.

The new products include ULTRA TEC, which is the name of the new fuel additive.

“Ultra Tec uses a new generation of high performance additives to give the best engine efficiency. We selected an additive both for gasoline and diesel which is designed to meet the challenges of today’s engines. It is specifically formulated to clean the engine’s valves and combustion chamber by removing deposits,” said the statement which promised that customers who used the product will experience improved fuel and engine efficiency and Improved vehicle performance.

RUBIGAS is the name of the Liquid Petroleum Gas brand.

“At Rubis, we know that customers want a clean, safe and reliable source of LPG for their home and commercial needs. Rubigas is available in green cylinders at all Rubis Service Stations and other outlets across the island in the traditional 20lb sizes,” the statement added.

The 100lb cylinders are sold through their local distributor Geo. F. Huggins & Co. (Grenada) Limited and are delivered directly to the customer’s home or business. Rubigas cylinders will be maintained using specialised shot blasting and spray painting equipment. Cylinders will be pressure washed and pressure tested regularly to ensure that customers receive the same high quality product each time.

Another product is Total Lubricants – a top quality, established lubricant brand.

“Total Lubricants will be distributed by Geo. F. Huggins & Co. (Grenada) Limited in Grenada and will be sold through the Rubis Service Stations network and at other outlets. Total Lubricants include a wide range of products with ever-higher performance levels to extend the life of your equipment and reduce your fuel consumption,” according to the statement.

Rubis West Indies Limited is now a major player in the fuels distribution business in the Caribbean. On May 1, 2011, the company acquired the assets owned and operated by Chevron under the Texaco brand in the Eastern Caribbean. (LS)
