Soccer double header

A soccer double-header, featuring both male and female footballers, is being planned for Old Trafford Playing Field in Tanteen, St. George’s.

The games are scheduled for Sunday, November 25.

The first, at 3 p.m., will involve the women. The match up brings together female pannists from Republic Bank Angel Harps Steel Orchestra and women whose soccer skills are being honed by well-known coach, Nat Simpson.

The other game on November 25 will be the third in a men’s series between Angel Harps and a Carenage over-40 team.

Carenage, which won the first 3–1, picked up a second victory on Sunday, November 11. Goals by Nigel Lashley, Elijah Joseph and Claudius Monah gave Carenage another 3–1 win. Sean Phillip scored the only goal for Angel Harps.

“Embracing the Future; Respecting the Past” is the theme of the series friendly community matches at Old Trafford.
