PM applauds Ministry of Finance

IN his capacity as Member of Parliament for St. Patrick’s East, Prime Minister and Political Leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Tillman Thomas, applauded the work of the Ministry of Finance, in securing a $28 million OFID Loan for the St. Patrick’s Road Rehabilitation and Upgrading Project.

Major works will be done on several roads in St. Patrick’s: from Darvey to Sauteurs and Morne Fendue to Pointzfield. MP Thomas is delighted that this long-awaited Road Works Project will result in employment, especially for those currently unemployed in the parish of St. Patrick’s.

A statement from the NDC said that it is estimated that in excess of 600 workers will find employment under this Road Project. MP Thomas said that the prospect of this $28 million circulating in the parish of St. Patrick’s is a testimony of the work done by his NDC administration, to lay a solid foundation for the people of St. Patrick’s in particular and Grenadians in general.

The political leader dedicated special effort towards ensuring that this Road Rehabilitation Project for St. Patrick’s becomes a reality.  This is the single most important and biggest project for the parish
of St. Patrick’s since Independence. MP Thomas is proud that this will be a major part of his legacy.

The people of St. Patrick’s can look forward to the road project as a welcome gift in this New Year, 2013.
