Flavian Antoine, a Director of the Grenada Cocoa Association (GCA), recently received the second of five instalments from US Chargé d’Affaires, Louis J. Crishock, for a project aimed at developing the agricultural sector.
The cheque for EC$81 000 represents the second of five instalments of an investment from the people of the United States through the US Agency for International Development (USAID)
to equip the Diamond Estate Cocoa Processing Plant in St. Mark.
The project is conducted as part of a public/private sector partnership between USAID, L.A. Burdick Grenada, the Grenada Cocoa Association and the International Youth Foundation’s Caribbean Youth Empowerment Programme (CYEP).
The project aims to stimulate the economy through support to the agricultural sector while providing jobs for youth who have completed skills training.
