Former Foreign Minister confident in new Venezuela VP
Former Grenada Foreign Minister, Peter David, is confident that Nicolas Maduro will perform excellently in the role of Venezuela’s new Vice-President.
President Hugo Chávez who was re-elected to another six-year term , announced Maduro to the number two position in government last week Wednesday.
Maduro, a former bus driver who rose through the ranks of Chávez’ United Socialist Party, had been serving as Venezuela’s Foreign Minister since 2006.
“I had the privilege of being involved in many intensive working sessions with Mr. Maduro at regional and international meetings,’’ said David, MP for the Town of St. George.
“Mr. Maduro is an intelligent and detailed-oriented individual and I’m confident that he will do an excellent job as the Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. I congratulate him on his elevation to the vice presidency.’’
