US-based Rotary Club donates cheques to local charities

A chapter of the US-based Rotary club enjoyed a 10-day dive vacation on the island of Grenada in January 2013. The 17 participants stayed at True Blue Bay resort.

Times after diving were spent exploring the beauty of Grenada. As one participant put it: “I did not expect such great diving, beautiful lush nature and most of all the friendliest people in the Caribbean. I definitely will be back.”

Discounts given by the hotel and dive centre were used to donate to two local charities. Mr. Robert Ewald, the group leader, stated: “We always combine our vacation trip with donations to local charity and usually go by the advice of the local Rotary Club.”

Cheques in the amount of US$1 750 were made to the Bel Air Home for Children and the Grenada School for Special Education.
