More than 6 000 fans were on hand for the encounter and they were not disappointed, after being given a football treat. Fans are unanimous that it was the best encounter in Grenada for a number of years.

It ended four-all during regulation time as fans were treated to a goal feast. LIME Paradise could only clinch it 2-1 during a sudden death shoot-out. Player of the tournament, Kimmon Redhead, put Hard Rock ahead in the second minute, when he latched on to a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box from Tyrone John. But LIME Paradise hit back three minutes later when their leading goalscorer, Wendell “Boboo” Renee, pounced on a true pass in the fourth minute.

Redhead, who finished the tournament with an incredible 14 goals, including four hat-tricks, restored the initiative for Hard Rock in the seventh minute, when he chipped the goalkeeper. But Jake Renee again brought Paradise level in the 20th minute. The St. Andrew’s outfit went ahead for the first time after Henderson Etienne netted from close range in the 34th minute, to give Paradise a 3-2 lead at the interval. However, Hard Rock came out fighting tooth and nail in the second period and were rewarded almost immediately, when skipper Shevon John Brown netted in the 42nd minute.

Tyrone John then restored the initiative for Hard Rock with a free kick just outside the 18-yard box in the 55th. A dogged battle ensued and Hard Rock appeared to be holding out for victory, before national striker Shane Renee struck in the 77th minute to even the contest. It ended 4-all and so a penalty shoot-out was needed to settle the issue. It was still even 4-all after the penalty shoot-out and sudden death was required to crown the champions, after Hard Rock goalkeeper Leroy James denied Ian Andrew and the Paradise custodian Ian Braveboy returned the favour by denying Jay Mark.

Quinton Renee and Steven Hood scored for LIME Paradise in the sudden death shoot-out, but Leroy James scored and Ian Williams missed to give the St. Andrew’s outfit a 10-9 overall victory. Fans were elated with the outcome, describing the game as the best they have seen here for a very long time. Hard Rock marksman, Kimmon Redhead, was the player of the tournament and his teammate, Shevon John Brown, the Most Impressive Youth Player. Ian Braveboy was the Best Goalkeeper and LIME Paradise walked away with the Championship Prize of EC$34 500.
