New Chairman for PetroCaribe and GBT

A founding member of the National Democratic Congress who chaired the PetroCaribe Board of Directors has lost his position as chairman of the body, which is responsible for purchasing fuel out of Venezuela.

According to Cabinet Secretary Gemma Bain-Thomas, Jerome Joseph, who was appointed chairman following the election into office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2008, was replaced by Aaron Moses.

Aaron Moses has now been appointed
as the new chairman of PetroCaribe.
She gave no reason for the replacement other than to say that the life of the Board has come to an end and Cabinet decided to appoint another person.

Joseph, in recent times, is no longer associated with the NDC and is now a founding member of the National United Front, which was launched a few weeks ago.

Andre Cherman is the new chairman
of the Grenada Board of Tourism (GBT).
There are also changes to the Grenada Board of Tourism (GBT), which was headed by Colin Dowe. Bain-Thomas said that the life of that Board also came to an end and not only is there a new chairman, but there are also new persons on the 11-member board, whose members include representatives from a wide cross-section of tourism stakeholders.

The new chairman is Andre Cherman, who is associated with the Coyaba Beach Resort. When the ruling administration came into office, Cherman was also appointed Chairman of the Grenada Airports Authority. (LS)
